Harman Kardon CP40 Review
System up for review- Harman Kardon CP40
The Harman Kardon CP40 home theater system is a receiver, DVD player and surround sound system, all in one box, or as some would like to call it for short, a home theater in a box (HTiB). The progressive scan DVD player upconverts your DVD’s to 480p and can play the DivX format, unfortunately it does not have an HDMI input or output. In the box there are 4 two-way satellite speakers, 1 two-way, a center speaker and a 10″ subwoofer. If you are not acustomed to Harmon Kardon speakers they are top of the line and offer great sound and performance. EzSet by Harman Kardon will allow you to easily configure your speakers individual volume to make your home theater sound the best.
All in all- The Harman Kardon CP40 provides great sound, and warm bass from the 10″ subwoofer. The system is not the most user friendly, so you may need someone to assist you with the set up. Also the upconvert feature is not as crisp as we would have liked. If you are in the market for a more crisp and clear picture and a receiver to plug into your HDMI input on your hi def widescreen television, you may want to look for something with a blu ray player.
